As with all Cherub tuners, this model offers supremely accurate tuning and fast response time. This tuner combines the best of the 3 technological worlds of digital VU meter, LCD and LED. Digital VU meter offers the most accurate response to tuning, perfect for precise tuning. LED tuning guides offers the easiest visual tuning indication. And LCD offers the best readout of tuner operation. This tuner can tune all the open strings on the guitar and bass. Additionally, the tuner has the option of flat tuning. Flat tuning is used when all strings are tuned half note lower than what they are supposed to be. A will become Ab and B will become Bb, etc. This is based on preference and the requirement of the music. The device has a built-in mic but also comes a standard 1/4" (6 mm) input jack that allows the tuner to be used with a pickup or directly connected to the instrument for improved tuning. With the built-in mic, this tuner can be used in a hands-free fashion while with a pickup, background noise will not get transmitted to the tuner. Additionally, this tuner comes with an output jack. The output jack is used commonly with an electric guitar and bass where the guitar's cable is connected to the input jack of the tuner while another cable connects from the output jack of the tuner to the amplifier. This allows tuning and playing at the same time without having to unhook the tuner. This tuner is compact pocket size. It can easily fit into any case or bag. It also comes with a built-in stand that allows the tuner to be placed in a easily readable position. This tuner even has a strap hole built into it, like the ones on cameras. You can attach a strap to the tuner and carry it or hang it. As with all Cherub metronomes, this model is very well built to resist damage from accidental drops.
